Guest House in Marseille

Located in the Carré d'Or in Marseille, this discreet mansion, built by the founder of the Société des Eaux de Marseille at the end of the 19th century, has regained its distinguished and sober appearance of yesteryear thanks to its renovation in 2021.

Because of the sanitary crisis linked to the Covid-19, La Maison Mermoz has set up some sanitary measures allowing the tranquility of all.

Sanitary instructions

➣ The stairway railing and door handles are disinfected several times a day.

➣ Linen is washed at high temperatures and ironed with a Laurastar steam plant that claims to eliminate 99.9% of viruses and bacteria.

➣ Rooms are aired before guests arrive.

➣ Disinfectant gel is available at the entrance of the house and in the rooms.

➣ Breakfasts can be served in the room if guests specify it before their arrival.

➣ Breakfasts are served on a guest table that guarantees more than a meter of distance between guests from different rooms. In the garden, they can be served at two different tables.

Until the reopening of the restaurants, it is possible to dine at La Maison Mermoz.
Please specify this when you make your reservation, by checking the box in "Services".

la maison mermoz guest house entrance in marseilleAfter 20 years of expatriation, Katia and Marc decided to come back to their heart city, Marseille, and share their passion for Marseille by opening their house to visitors.

Acquired at first sight, they rethink it to realize Katia's dream, to receive guests and to have good moments of exchange with them if they wish.

In her previous life, she promoted the city as a tourist destination and today, she is happy to see that the city has truly become a tourist destination.

She wishes to reveal the good addresses, more or less known, the more or less secret places, and to make people love this city in which she has always believed passionately.

After 15 months of work, this real “maison marseillaise” (the name of a small private mansion with very precise plans) has found a new life and offers itself to lovers of beautiful things. For, from the acquisition of the house to the acquisition of the smallest object, each one has its own story. And if you wish, you will be given a guided tour of the collection that gives the house its cosy atmosphere.

Each room has its own identity due to the regions of the world where paintings, objects, linens, furniture, carpets, dishes, have been made while respecting the requirements of the mistress of the house: discretion, sobriety, aestheticism and refinement.

Staying at La Maison Mermoz, whether for business or tourism, will allow you to better understand one of the facets of the art of living in Marseille and to share the daily life of a couple from Marseille in this house that is a witness of this way of life.
